Choosing to pursue Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in Sports Media allows me to continue on the sports path while growing in my journalistic skills. I was a cheerleader all my life, but after too many injuries, I had to step away from the sport that shaped me. I knew after my experience, a career in the fast-paced, changing sports industry was for me.
As a journalist, I’ve gained hands-on video production experiences through both in and outside the classroom setting! With that, I have been able to hold an internship with the Windy City ThunderBolts which has now opened the door to working with Kansas Athletics and their video production crew.
I am excited to see where my skills take me and am eager to continue growing within the sports industry.
